Routing is different to planning?

Yes! For a number of reasons, firstly, and most importantly, planning is for all kinds of activities. Routing is for collections only. Routing takes things like vehicle capacity and distances into consideration. You can allow the system to do the routing or a user can do it, you can even allow the system to plan a route and then the user can refine it.

Routing is completed using mapping, for easy visualisation of routes.

If you have the appropriate options the route can be sent to the Sat Nav used in vehicles, otherwise, the routing list you generated can be sent to the driver to add it to their own Sat Nav.

In built controls will ensure you never overload a van and a driver is never allocated a vehicle or collection type they are not qualified for.

Each driver/user can manage thier availability, taking things like holidays and training days into account. Other users with permissions, a manager for instance, can also manage staff availability.

Vehicles too, can have thier availability managed.

This all helps you manage collections effectively and efficiently.
